Healthcare professionals know the period following a patient’s transition from hospital to home is a sensitive one. From staving off infection to ensuring the continuation of comprehensive care, patients and their caregivers often need additional resources to mitigate these challenges. That’s where ODI comes in.

ODI: Supporting Patients Since 1997

Orthodynamics Company Inc. began as a distributor of durable medical equipment—bracing and wheelchairs—expanding later into customized mechanical circulatory support (VAD/TAH) management. ODI recognized early on that while VADs and TAHs were life-saving technologies, their long-term success depended on expert support, patient education, and customized management strategies. Opportunities to grow came following advancements in LVAD implantation—allowing patients to be discharged from the hospital to recover at home.

However, reimbursement policies that did not account for home care following a patient’s release created a significant demand for equipment and supplies that could stand in the gap and protect patients from infection. ODI rose to meet this demand for crucial Driveline Management Supplies, external equipment, and other medical supplies that smooth the sensitive transition from hospital to home.

Filling Gaps with ODI Logistics

With a mission to enhance the quality of life for patients reliant on mechanical circulatory support, ODI’s proprietary solutions and services support VAD coordinators to better serve their patients without the anchors of administrative management. Alongside LVAD manufacturer Thoratec, an ODI pilot program eventually evolved into partnerships with providers in New York, Alabama, Pennsylvania, and throughout the nation.

One of Orthodynamics’ core strengths has been its holistic approach to VAD and TAH management. By integrating patient care, provider training, and technological expertise, the company has helped bridge the gap between medical innovation and practical application.

After nearly thirty years of service and partnerships with 100 LVAD/MCS centers in the United States, Orthodynamics Company Inc. remains committed to connecting patients with the equipment, supplies, and education necessary for a healthier future.
